LEAD COOK & LINE COOK
We take hospitality seriously and expect our staff to have a genuine love of people and working in the service industry. Operating with an ‘all hands on deck’ mentality, the front of house and back of house work as a cohesive team and all staff is often called upon to perform a wide variety of tasks from running food, cleaning, washing dishes, etc.
The successful candidate will have the ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while consistently producing quality dishes and maintaining high sanitary standards. The position requires a minimum of 1 year experience in fine dining/full service restaurants. We are looking for cooks with a passion for food and a desire to learn and grow. We expect all of our team members to assist in any task necessary for the successful operation of our restaurant so a positive disposition and a "can-do" attitude are essential to success in this role. You must be willing and open to taking direction.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: cleanliness of kitchen/ food storage areas, food preparation & execution of food orders based upon pre-established recipes and food protocols. We operate an open kitchen where our guests will be able to see you work - therefore you must be able to maintain a professional demeanor, even when under stress.
This can be a full-time position for the right candidate.
Starting pay for this position is $15/hour. Performance reviews after 30 days and 90 days of successful employment with the possibility of increased hourly wage. Additional compensation may be available for candidates possessing a Food Manager's License from the D.C. Department of Health.
Service industry experience preferred; good attitude and work ethic required.
